Through the Indiana Foreclosure Prevention Network, Indiana homeowners may access Indiana's Hardest Hit Fund (HHF), a program that helps families who are at high risk of default or foreclosure.

The State of Indiana designed Indiana's HHF programs to help Hoosier homeowners struggling to make their mortgage payments due to an involuntary financial hardship. This website is the fastest way for Indiana families to submit an HHF application for assistance.

To get started, set up a profile by clicking "Apply Online" at the top of this page. We'll connect you with a housing counseling agency. If you're already working with a housing counseling agency, that's alright too. We'll help you and the agency access assistance. Once you've completed this application, a housing counseling agency will contact you about your next steps.

Homeowners not eligible for Indiana's Hardest Hit Fund may still receive free foreclosure prevention assistance from the State of Indiana by applying online.

To be eligible for the Indiana's Hardest Hit Fund you must be:

  • An Indiana Homeowner
  • The owner of only one mortgaged home, and currently reside in that home as your primary residence
  • A homeowner who can no longer afford their mortgage payment due to a qualifying involuntary financial hardship such as a job layoff or large medical bills
  • Meet certain income eligibility requirements (requirements can be found online at www.877gethope.org
